MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE MOBILE 

AREA JEWISH FEDERATION, INC

April 12, 2021 

The properly noticed meeting of the Board of Directors of the Mobile Area Jewish Federation, Inc. was called to order by Immediate Past President Susan Sass on April 12, 2021 at 5:30 p.m

Also present were board members Robert Bloom, Steve Muhlfelder, David Meola, Susan Sass, Gil Laden, Jonathan Fratkin, Judy Aronson, Priscilla Gold-Darby, Steve Katz, Barry Silverman, Rickie Voit, Josh Isen, Jeff Redisch, Rabbi Steven Silberman, Neil Sass, Michael Cohen, Larry Voit and Cassie Morgenstern, Executive Director.

 

The meeting was held virtually via Zoom teleconference. Each person who attended the meeting affirmatively stated his or her consent to the electronic participation via Zoom, that he or she waived the right to require members to be physically present to count in a quorum, vote, and otherwise participate in the meeting. 

 

It was duly moved and seconded to approve the minutes of the February 8, 2021 board meeting. The motion passedThe agenda for this meeting and the Film Festival financial reports are attached

Rabbi Silberman gave the D'var Torah

Cassie Morgenstern gave a financial report in the absence of Treasurer Ken Bloch. She reported that funds in the certificate of deposit had been moved to the main bank account due to banking requirements

Cassie Morgenstern described the planning for City of David virtual tour scheduled for April 25, 2021 and the Night to Honor Israel and the Jewish People featuring Coach Bruce Pearl scheduled for April 26, 2021. 

She reported that the Holocaust Education Resolution will be rescheduled. 

She reported on the status of the new website designed by JFNA. She expects that the go-live date will be May 12, 2021. 

Barry Silverman and Rickie Voit gave reports on the 2021 Mobile Jewish Film Festival. The financial report of the Film Festival was given by Cassie Morgenstern. 

Susan Sass reported on the 2021 campaign. She recommended a combined outdoor annual meeting and campaign event. Rabbi Silberman reminded everyone that Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzmaut are approaching. 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
